A Victorian mansion house set in the heart of Windermere. Fifteen individually designed bedrooms, many enjoying excellent views towards the lake and fells. A family-run hotel which is rich with historical interest.
This is our house champagne which comes in an ice bucket with glasses. If you should wish an altenative champagne please contact us to arrange this.

Our normal hours for accepting arrivals are from 15:00 to 22:00.
Upon confirmation of your booking by us we will take a non refundable deposit equivalent to your first nights stay from the card details you supply with the balance due on departure. If booking within 10 days of arrival we will require payment in full. All payments made by credit card will incur a £2 charge. No charge will be made when paying by debit card.

All the prices, details and availability are supplied directly by the accommodation provider and presented at this website in good faith, but without any liability whatsoever.

Prices:The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated. Unless clearly stated on the booking form all extras such as additional meals, telephone drinks etc are additional. We accept the following forms of payment:cash, cheque with bankers card, debit cards, credit cards.
Pets:Pets are not permitted.
Cancellation and Insurance:Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made 10 days or more before your arrival you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made within 10 days of arrival or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount unless we can re-let. For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.Any booking which is to be cancelled will only be deemed cancelled when written confirmation is received by you from us confirming the cancellation.
Non-availability:We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival:Your room will be available from 3pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 10pm.
Departure:Please be ready to leave your room by 10.30am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure. Late departure will result in an additional days tariff being charged.
Damages and Breakages:Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £100 if you did not report this.
Liability:We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Children:We do not accept children at Applegarth Villa.
Bank HolidaysWe only accept a minimum of three nights stay over the bank holiday weekend, Christmas and the New Year periods.
WeekendsA minimum of two nights stay is required. In certain circumstances it may be possible to accommodate a one night booking at the weekend. Please contact the hotel before booking on-line to discuss your requirements.A minimum of two nights is required for our Valentines weekend.
