Located in a peaceful rural hamlet in the Lake District National Park. Easy access to fells, lakes and Solway coast. A 17thC converted stone barn with lofted ceilings and exposed stone walls.The Hayloft is exceptionally clean and warm.
We do have a small sofa bed in the main living area which is suitable for a child or one adult. There is a surcharge for linen of £8 per night.
Our normal hours for accepting arrivals are from 14:00 to 24:00.
We require a £100 deposit payment per cottage per week or short break at time of booking and the remaining payment would be due four weeks before the arrival date. You can pay by cheque made payable to Mrs Christine Neale, switch or credit cards over the telephone or by BACS directly into our Natwest Bank account or even PayPal. We will email you details upon request.

Prices:The price of the accommodation includes electricity, towels, linen, cleaning, hot water and oil fired central heating (06:00 to midnight).Please note that both Huddlestone Cottage and The Hayloft now have a programmable room thermostat fitted with the following timings:Winter Settings - October to March 06:00 to 07:30 at 16 degrees07:30 to 09:30 at 20 degrees09:30 to 15:30 at 16 degrees15:30 to 17:00 at 18 degrees17:00 to 22:30 at 20 degrees22:30 to midnight at 16 degreesSummer Settings – April to September06:00 to 07:30 at 16 degrees07:30 to 09:30 at 18 degrees09:30 to 15:30 at 12 degrees15:30 to 17:00 at 16 degrees17:00 to 22:30 at 18 degrees22:30 to midnight at 16 degrees However the temperature can be manually overridden up to a maximum of 20 degrees for two hours before it will reset back to the presettings as above.
Dogs:A single dog is permitted.Please note that we request dog owners to agree to the following booking conditions as we have had some problems with dog owners and we charge an extra £15 per dog per stay with only a single dog accepted.1. The dog is not allowed on any furniture, beds or in the bedrooms due to some of our clients having asthma.2. The dog is not left on its own in the cottage and stays with the owner at all times.3. The dog is not allowed to foul in the gardens and if it does you will "scoop the poop".4. The dog must be on a lead around the cottages at all times. There is a two-acre field at the top of the garden where you can run the dog off the lead.5. The dog must not be a nuisance to other guests.
Cancellation and Insurance:Once you have booked your holiday, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable. If for whatever reason you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even we have not yet received your balance. If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it, less an administration fee. Please note that your deposit is not refundable under any circumstances. For this reason we strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
Non-availability of Accommodation:We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by your for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival:Your accommodation will be available to you from 4PM on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. Please try not to arrive earlier as we will still be busy preparing your accommodation, and won’t be available to welcome you.
Departure:Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10:30AM on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Please try to leave the accommodation as clean as possible. If you have made use of any further service for which payment has not been made during your holiday, we will provide you with an invoice which is payable on departure.
Damages and Breakages:Please take care with our properties. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, and we may make an additional charge of £50 if you did not report this.
Liability:We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Data:Any data collected during the course of this booking may be kept on computer.We look forward to welcoming you to Huddlestone Cottage and The Hayloft.
